I'm a Certified Massage Therapist (#57094) from the California Massage Therapy Council and a Level III Reiki Master Practitioner. I also earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Masters of Business Administration from Virginia Tech University. 

 

I began practicing in early 2014 and have been studying spirituality and energy healing since 2007. My training from the Massage Therapy Institute in Davis, CA includes a blend of Western and Eastern modalities and I practice an integrated blend of therapeutic massage that includes techniques from the Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Acupressure modalities. I also practice Reiki and offer in person and remote sessions. One of my more popular offerings is the Combination Sessions that include both therapeutic massage and Reiki. 

 

I received my Certified Massage Therapist certification from the California Massage Therapy Council in June of 2014 and opened Joann Wetherill Bodywork in Carmichael, CA, which operated from 2015 until 2020. After a relocation to North Carolina, I operated Jody Wetherill Bodywork in downtown Asheville from 2024 through 2025. In March 2026, I'm back in Sacramento, CA operating as Jody Wetherill Bodywork.

 

On my Testimonials page you'll see reviews that call me Joann and/or Jody. Joann is my legal name but I prefer my nickname, Jody. In this current chapter, doing business as Jody Wetherill Bodywork feels the best fit. ​

 

I like to relax through reading, meditation, spiritual studies, walking, cooking, watching Sci-Fi  & Fantasy movies, watercolor painting, and digital arts. Sharing life with my husband and beloved, Brett and our cat, Picco is a true pleasure. Brett and I love to cook for friends and family and I also love savoring and sharing great food & festive beverage pairings (nurturing my past chapters of living in Napa and being a Certified Sommelier).
